To support our growth, we are recruiting a PCIe Embedded Software Engineer for our Boards and Systems Software team. Join the adventure!

POSITION

You would join the Boards & Systems Software team (10 people) which is responsible for the development of low-level embedded software for Kalray solutions. The team’s scope and impact are wide, as it is responsible for development from the secure boot chain firmware to the deployment of rich OS such as Linux and his drivers.

You are looking for exciting challenges, you are curious and flexible, this position is for you. You will contribute to multiple topics, from the architecture of our manycore processor (MPPA) to the bring-up of the MPPA-based boards, you will have the opportunity to grow your skills continuously. You will also play a very important role in the design and validation of our next SoC generation by being engaged with our Hardware team and prototyping complex and interesting use cases on FPGA platforms.

You will be in charge of:

  • Design, develop debug and maintain embedded software for MPPA® SoC 
  • Development of kernel device and user space drivers (PCIe subsystem)  
  • Debug on target (JTAG, GDB, profiling) in a multi-process and multi-threaded environment or in kernel space 
  • Define and run test plans for bring up on FPGA and SoC targets 
  •  

CANDIDATE

Skills

  • Strong C programming and debugging skills for embedded systems 
  • Experience with Linux system environment, GNU toolchain, debugging tools (JTAG/GDB) 
  • Experience in PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express), cross compilation 
  • Linux device drivers 
  • Familiar with scripting languages like Bash, Python, Ruby 
  • Familiar with Jenkins, CI, Git 
  • Would be a plus: SPDK, DPDK, VirtIO 


Profile

  • Graduate Engineer or PhD in embedded software or equivalent 
  • 3+ years of experience in embedded software development 
  • Problem-solving and good communication skills (English/French) 
  • Ability to innovate and propose the right solutions 
  • Adaptability and flexibility
     

CONTRACT

Starting date: as soon as possible

Type of contract: permanent / full-time

Location: Montbonnot (Grenoble area, France)

Annual Salary: depending on profile and experience
